What are you REACHing for?


I've been searching for an app that'll help me save for a while.

I mean, we've got apps that assist us in stalking our ex's, crushing candy and fixing our contour, so why couldn't I find an app that'll help with my finances? They need to be on fleek as well.

If you've been in a situation where you're meant to save up for your next vacation, rent, your friend’s bridal shower or baby shower (a lot of showering if you ask me), then you understand my plight. I mean, do y’all get married every weekend?

Abeg, saving money is hard work compared to spending!!! Me sef, I’ve started dodging Aso-Ebi bellas, because, “Fam, who her wedding epp?”

Well, for those of us in search of a 'financial Snapchat' to add savings filters to life, today is our day! There's an app that helps us do just that and more. It's called REACH! *dancer emoji*

REACH is a group savings’ tool. Save for your big life moments with those closest to you.

About 300 people have already started using this app. REACH users are saving for travel, rent, weddings, school, phones - name it.

But it’s more than just savings. REACH members are getting discounts all over the place. Ever heard of getting a car for as little as 300k? Or getting 10% off Wakanow flights? Well, this is a reality for the app's users. REACH makes sure that its users save as much money as possible, and that's why the most exclusive deals are at its reach (pun is fully and unashamedly intended).

Once you download the app, the first thing you see is this beautiful welcome page. It's one of the best welcome pages I've seen on an app so far. Things get exciting right from the dashboard. Log in and you already have a REACH Score of 10. Like, how? But me I’m not complaining.

The REACH Score is a neat feature that awards points for every completed action on the app. Add a friend - score! Start a goal - score! Send a message sef - score! The higher your points, the higher you are on the list of those who hear first about deals - like that ₦300,000 car deal.

You’ll appreciate this product, even more, when setting up a savings target. Tap the 'add' button on your dashboard. Select the category of your goal (so it can match you to vendor discounts). Set the amount you want to save, when you need the money, and how frequently you want to debit money towards this goal. Once you've entered your details, it takes you to a page that shows a meter of your progress. You can pause your goal, or end the goal entirely to have your money sent back immediately to the bank account of your choice.

That's it! After you've done this, sit back and relax while the app makes your life easier.

You never enjoy the value of the health, freedom and life you have until you are at the verge of losing it. There is always something to be grateful for. While it is noble to pursue career development and growth, to be a responsible family member and a model citizen, and a role model too; at the end of the day, we are all living life in the pursuit of happiness. For some, happiness is more money in the bag. For others, it is achieving set life goals and objectives. For others, it is raising a family. Whatever it is for you, try to enjoy it. Try to find happiness in it. Try to savour all the little pleasures life has to offer – within the borders of reason and common sense of course. If you don’t, when you have become much older, and your ability to enjoy life becomes much diminished, you absolutely would regret not enjoying life more when you could.
