No.6: Ignoring your health.
Health indeed is the greatest wealth you can have.
When you are seriously sick, you suddenly realize that
nothing else really matters.
What is the point of spending many years schooling, working
so hard, and just when you are supposed to ease off and begin to enjoy the
fruits of the labour of years of study, endurance, money management, and hard
work, your health relapses, and you spend all the money you have putting away
to get well.
Giving your career all the time and attention now, to the
detriment of your health definitely has repercussions both in the short and
long term.
Averagely, it takes between 15 and 20 years to rise from
entry-level to the C-Suite in a structured environment. If you get in by 25,
you are supposed to enter your career peak at the organisation by 45.
Imagine having to battle health challenges when you are
supposed to be "balling"? That is surely not something to look
forward to. Many top executives struggle with sight challenges, weight issues,
ulcer, high blood pressure, weak hearts and much more because they failed to
maintain a balance between their work and health.
Don't fall into that trap.
Do better.
Maximize January and make a health management plan and stick
to it.
See you tomorrow for No. 6
